Crystal Lake Pride Announces Official Incorporation as a Non-Profit Organization Following Ribbon-Cutting Success
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — April 24, 2026 — Following a successful official ribbon-cutting ceremony held yesterday, April 23, 2026, Crystal Lake Pride is thrilled to announce that it has officially incorporated as an independent non-profit organization.
What began in 2024 as an outreach initiative under the Downtown Crystal Lake Main Street Association has experienced rapid growth, necessitating the transition into its own standalone entity. This milestone marks a new chapter in the organization’s commitment to serving the community.
The mission of Crystal Lake Pride is to break down stigmas and educate the community, while always remaining respectful of the neighborhoods in which we live and work. Since forming its dedicated Board of Directors, the organization has developed a robust calendar of year-round initiatives aimed at fostering inclusivity and celebration.
“This event is something to be proud of,” said Jim Tomasek, Board President of Crystal Lake Pride. “We have worked hard to curate a fun experience that is truly respectful of our neighborhood. Whether you are a member of the queer community or want to show support for your neighbors who are, this is an event for you!”

About Crystal Lake Pride:
Crystal Lake Pride is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Through education, community engagement, and annual celebrations, we strive to break down stigmas and build lasting unity between neighbors.ence doesn’t always arrive with a bold entrance. Sometimes, it builds quietly, step by step, as we show up for ourselves day after day. It grows when we choose to try, even when we’re unsure of the outcome. Every time you take action despite self-doubt, you reinforce the belief that you’re capable. Confidence isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about trusting that you can figure it out along the way.
The key to making things happen isn’t waiting for the perfect moment; it’s starting with what you have, where you are. Big goals can feel overwhelming when viewed all at once, but momentum builds through small, consistent action. Whether you’re working toward a personal milestone or a professional dream, progress comes from showing up — not perfectly, but persistently. Action creates clarity, and over time, those steps forward add up to something real.
You don’t need to be fearless to reach your goals, you just need to be willing. Willing to try, willing to learn, and willing to believe that you’re capable of more than you know. The road may not always be smooth, but growth rarely is. What matters most is that you keep going, keep learning, and keep believing in the version of yourself you’re becoming.
